Line 39:
Isis Stone, unlike the likes of Kallisto, didn't have a huge amount of funds to begin with. Isis had to work from the scratch, starting out as a part of the lower class. Isis however knew that work as a petty criminal isn't going to cut it: fortunately, Isis always set Kallisto as the "archrival" to topple, and as such knew Kallisto's holdings and dealings with the outside pretty well. Despite lacking the data regarding Kallisto's underground deals in the 3rd timeline, Isis was able to do something similar: selling much desired goods to warring factions, and in this case, selling plasma fruits to the feuding vampires in Bridgeport. Although Isis herself was only a small vendor (especially due to a lack of reliable supply, and much less production), Isis was able to easily supplement her meager income, and despite not noticeably jumping economic classes, definitely earning enough cash to stay afloat. While dealing in the black market, Isis found what she thought was an incredible fruitcake Akio Isador (who himself dealt there as a minor vendor): Akio was childish, clearly the kind who wouldn't even know about the black market. Isis thought Akio to be a cunning guy in disguise, and decides to offer him a partnership, which he accepted although he noted that Isis was boring.

When Akio was taken in, all of his assets (which amounted to very little) was added to Isis's asset, and Akio decides to take up a job as a Magician, something that he wished to be before his short career as a vendor, he wished to be one, only to end up as a baker. Isis didn't mind the extra income: Akio was rather inept in the realm of business, and Akio sticking to his role as a vendor would generate far less income. Isis needed the income, if Isis was to expand: her goal being nothing less than a domain in which to generate income and splendor no less than that of her self-proclaimed archrival, although Isis had nothing in mind for things like laws and ideology: mind you, Isis would happily accept an increasing population in one way or another, while Kallisto would be happy to forgo that if it meant no romance.
