At the going away party, James has one final video game session with Riley before he moves. The next evening, on a unusually warm fall day, he also learns about Jackie's relationship with [[Fanon:David Wren|David Wren]]. In fact, he has a nice conversation with him, Joanna, and Jackie that same evening. A few days later, James is promoted to Senior Manager of his office, but he celebrates humbly because of Riley's move.
Another few days, James learns about the incident that happened to Joanna with [[Fanon:Crystal Lawson|Crystal Lawson]] earlier that day. While Joanna says she handled the situation, James thinks that they should apologize for any confusion in order to teach Julia something. Joanna realizes and agrees. However, when James tries to make a friendly gesture towards [[Fanon:Steven Lawson|Steven Lawson]], he refuses it. James and Joanna both yell at Steven for his rudeness. Crystal overhears their arguing and demands them all inside where the situation doesn't get any better. James and Joanna decide to go home and teach Julia that she shouldn't hang out with nasty, jealous people like the Lawsons.
