When John entered Landgraab Elementary in the first grade, he opted to vigorously study and chat very little with his classmates. This resulted in him earning high grades on his assignments, and he opted to take advanced learning classes in middle school so that he would gain credit in high school.

John began working as a [[manual laborer]] once he entered Buckingham High in the ninth grade. He would work in the morning hours on the weekend. During his time at high school, he was a straight A student who was interested in gardening and computer programming. John's fond of love for gardening would result in him getting promoted from lawn mower to junior gardener during his time in high school. Shortly before he was expected to graduate from high school, he announced that he would become a computer programmer; he had entered into a short-lived relationship with one of Jennifer's co-workers a short while earlier. Once he graduated from high school, he resigned from his position at the gardening workplace in favour of a similar position at a technology facility.
==Workplace career==
John began working as a computer programmer a few days after he left the gardening position because he thinks it would be better for him to work with technology than with anything else. His programming skills outpaced his gardening skills since they did not require any dirty hands. His goal is to be a chief operating officer of a startup technology company.
