Kate appearedis first introduced in [[''The Sims]]'', as a youngsingle, singlestudious woman living in [[6 Sim Lane]],sim with the starting funds of 2,000 simoleons. At this point, Kate doesn't know many people, butShe is friends with [[Bella Goth]] and, her husband [[Mortimer Goth]] and [[Bob Newbie]]. She is unemployed at the start of the game, though her skill in logic makes the science career an ideal choice for her.  Kate highlights the "working woman" character type, and indeed her bio suggests the player finds her a job in either the [[culinary]] career track or the [[science]] career track.

In [[The Sims Bustin' Out]], for some reason Kate is back living with her [[Mom|mom]] in her house, which could potentially behave been the family home she grew up in,. This is unlikely however, as at the start of the game there is only one bedroom which is most likely Mom's, so the player must construct her a bedroom until she is moved out due to [[Malcolm Landgraab]], Mom's divorced husband, starting to repossrepossess items like crazy.

After a dayfew days of gameplay, Kate moves out to [[Mimi Landgraab|Mimi Landgraab's]] house; a very pink, girly styled home with two bedrooms, as she is startedenrolled in the [[Counter Culture]] career. In most games, she will only stay there for roughly three days: one to settle in and two to get promoted and eventually move to [[Studio 8]], where she meets [[Artie Fischl]] and [[Charity Grant]]. Once there she will beis promoted another two times before moving to [[Casa Caliente]]. When she is staying there, she will helphelps [[Randy Hart]] and roomie  [[Paisley Rainbow]] to find a candle for their house. In this task she makes out with Mortimer Goth, although this does not show as a memory in later''[[The installationsSims of the game2]]''. From there she will move to the [[Pixel Acres]], where she will plotplots to frame Malcolm for public exposure with [[Chase Skurtz]] and [[Ying Yangst]], although she can get rid of him herself by making him strip off when she plays the [[Synthesizer]] at [[Creativity (skill)|creativity ]] level ten. Either way, he will be arrested, so once she has been promoted she can move into [[Malcolm's Mansion]].

SinceAt [[the start of ''The Sims Bustin2'' Out]], Kate is once again living by herself sinceat Mom190 [who'sMain nameStreet is learnt to be Lorraine through thein [[Family tree|family treePleasantview]]] died, only this time at 190 Main Street and being 510 days away from ageing up into an adult. SheAs seemssoon toas havethe takenplayer a strange curiosity over discoveringloads the secretlot, ofKate [[Bellawill Goth]].run Itto ispuke likelyin thatthe she believes Don Lothario had something to do with it,toilet as she dislikes him and has a picturesign of him angry at her in herfact albumbeing pregnant, althoughwith thisan is[[Unborn possiblybaby becauseMoore| sheunborn knewchild]] aboutas theira affairresult andof washer angry at him for meddlingaffair with Bella's[[Michael lifeBachelor]]. The Thenbaby again,is shealways alsoborn dislikesas Mortimera Goth for potentially the same reasonboy.

JustKate's memories show that just after Momher mother's dieddeath, Kateshe began an affair with the late [[Michael Bachelor]], which seems somewhat out of character from Kate's kind personality. This may have been due to the grief of loosing both of her closet parent so soon, so she could have needed someone to fall back onpoints. Nonetheless, the two of them were deeply in love, butalthough it ismay be possible Kate didn't know that Michael had a fiancé - [[Dina Caliente]], hence- whybecause theDina relationshipdoes flourishednot asshow itup did. After one day of playing,in Kate's willmemories turnor out to be pregnant, then giving birth just one day before turning into an elderrelationships. The child is fixed to be a girl and always Michaels.

Kate is friends with [[Mary-SueCassandra PleasantGoth]]  and [[CassandraMary-Sue GothPleasant]], who both of whom share Kate's hard working nature.
