==Early Life==
Larch is the only son of [[Fanon:Moss Rose|Moss Rose]]. The events surrounding his spawning are hazy at best, although it is fairly certain that it was completely unplanned. He was a notoriously wayward child, seemingly determined to get in the wat of everyone else's duties, although he was usually only curious. He was the last child raised by [[Fanon:Willow Rose|Willow]] as Nurturer, and she is known to have a strong bond with him. Despite her encouragement, Larch refused to choose an area of specialty upon maturing, leading him to be placed in the role of 'general assistant', an occupation he is known to detest.

''A Garden of Roses'' begins shortly after Larch matured to adulthood, and catches him right in the middle of his rebellious phase. Tensions were obvious during the Spring Council, and once again Larch and Reed rubbed each other up the wrong way. Larch is shown to have a very different outlook to the other Roses with regards to property, duty and the correct way to behave. He also lamented his lack of family history, with the others refusing to give him any concrete detail of his own birth, leading to accusations and rumours that he was accidentally and mistakenly 'sneezed out' by Moss and was never in fact intended to exist at all. This did little to help his feeling that he was out of place and more often than not sent him scampering into the trees to gaze at the stars.

Following a string of mistakes, arguments and poor decisions (punctuated by a series of kind acts later revealed to be the work of Lily), Larch decided to spend a night relaxing in the spring. Here he met up with Lily and was confronted with some confusing new emotions. He shared his pain at being referred to as an 'accident', his frustration at his father's lack of communication and his private dreams of being thrown out of the garden to take his place among the 'flesh-beings' of legend. Realising his attraction to Lily, he spotted an ideal opportunity to break the PlantSims' taboos by forming a physical relationship. Unfortunately, he failed to consider any unforeseen effects, or indeed Lily's emotions.
