Production[edit | edit source]
Origin of PleasantView
The show first came into mind for Max Z (CrazeSim), in 2011 when he watched a variety of different series made by fellow Sims players, such as Doons99P when she was still doing her own series revolving around the town of Pleasantview. When her last episode was published in 2012, Max (CrazeSim) considered doing his own series. He created the first episode of the PleasantView Series on May 24, 2014, but due to it not getting enough activity he gave up on the idea and forgot about the series. During the release of his channel CrazeSim, he had thought about making his own series. But was too busy with his school work in order to write a script. After he noticed that his first episode had about over one hundred views in two years, he thought about rebooting the series, and making it so that it would benefit his viewers and his channel's current status. On January 1, 2016 he tweeted that his two year hiatus on his PleasantView Series is ending and he's rebooting the series in September 2016. Since then he has wrote so many scripts and the series has got positive reviews from variety of people.
Writing
The scripts for the PleasantView Series were written during January-July 2016, done by CrazeSimGaming (Maxim) himself. Originally the fifth episode was intended to be the second episode to come out, since that's the first script Maxim has worked on. But Maxim thought that it didn’t make that much sense for the second episode to go straight to the wedding, CrazeSim shifted the Wedding Episode up to it’s fifth release. Currently at this stage there’s 80% characters have been written onto the first season, since the Burbs and the Oldies have no current place in Season One as they're optional characters, they might come in sometime at the start of Season Two. Bella Goth and her clone Kathryn Sampson were both written into the series as their existence is mostly considered a mystery by most ‘simmers’ which is what the series is based upon. In Season One the story-line revolves around the centre of the game when new Simmers begin playing The Sims 2 for the first time, which means that the story follows all the characters present background when first launching the neighbourhood. CrazeSim also thought of adding some of the Sims 3 Storyline into the series, one of it were being Don Lothario’s mysterious appearance in Riverview.
Filming & Editing
There were some difficulties with the filming of the episodes, firstly the in-game recording option was the first choice of recording the series. But due to the quality being so awful. CrazeSim had an idea to film the entire game using Nvidia Shadowplay, and removing all the games interference using Sony Vegas. The 'Similish' Language and editing is done through Sony Vegas, and the subtitles are added in Movie Maker.
