Line 71:
When Lily finds herself afflicted with a mysterious illness (which soon turns out to be morning sickness), Reed allows her to take refuge in his cabin, even grumblingly allowing her to quarantine herself in there. Although he remains unaware of his younger daughter's pregnancy, his suspicion of Larch continues to grow and, after expressing his disapproval of Willow's supposed leniency towards him, warns her that he would 'bring [her] something much worse than a spiteful tongue'.

During Lily's brief absence and Larch's unfortunate tenure as Nurturer, Reed, to his later outrage, allows his softer side to shine through, proving a surprisingly patient assistant to both [[Fanon:Moss Rose|Moss]] and Oak as they recover from the mishap with the frillgrill.
