*Although wasn't originaly intended to be such, The sonic[[Fanon:Sonic screwdriverScrewdriver|Sonic Screwdriver]] makes its first appearance when used by the Doctor, while being possessed by the Cybermen. With the sound effect used during the ''New Series'' heard. The sonic screwdriver would later be heard being used in "[[Fanon:Astray (Doctor Who)|Astray]]", "[[Fanon:Nemesis (Doctor Who)|Nemesis]]" and "[[Fanon:Siege (Doctor Who)|Siege]]".
*This is the only episode to actually show the sonic screwdriver, in all future uses, it is only heard. However, in a deleted scene from "[[Fanon:Duel (Doctor Who)|Duel]]", the Doctor can be seen holding the Sonic Screwdriver.
*The Cybermen ship exterior seen in the ending, resembles closely to the Cybermen spaceship seen in ''Revenge of the Cybermen''.
*The Cybermens energy lasers have changed from red lasers, to blue lightening like lasers. The lightening is reminist of the lasers the Cybermen use in ''The Moonbase'', ''The Tomb of the Cybermen'' and ''The Wheel in Space''.
