==Story==
===Pre-Birth and Early Years===
Santiago was born to a lower-middle-class family in [[Lucky Palms]]. His father worked at a saloon and his mother did washing. He was born the youngest of four children.
===Childhood===
Santiago was eight years old before he went to school due to the fact that he simply did not want to learn and his family was too busy for anyone to see to it that he went to school and stayed there. Eventually his big sister, Isabella, told him that to care for anybody or even himself, he had to be able to apply himself to tasks. He went to school after that and did pretty well, and he made friends with a girl named Celestina Lopez.
===Teenage Years===
Though he had to leave school and get a job because his mother was pregnant and fading, Santiago kept up contact with Celestina and saw her every chance he got. Soon it was obvious to everyone that they were in love, and both sets of parents gave their blessing for the possibility of marriage in the future.

After Santiago had a little pile of simoleons gathered up, he had a small wedding to Celestina and soon a baby was on the way. Celestina fell ill with the baby because she was really too young to safely bear a child. Santiago worked every kind of small job there was to get proper care for his young wife, and soon found a lucky streak in gambling--and an addiction. But there was enough money for a good midwife and baby Pedro was brought into the world.
===Young Adulthood===
Santiago kept gambling, even though he really didn't need the money anymore because most of the food was provided by Celestina's extensive family. He kept it a secret from his wife because he knew she wouldn't approve. One day he was gambling with three other people, and when it was over, the woman who had played with them pulled a gun on the winner, saying that no one could beat her without cheating. Santiago then aimed his gun at her, and they began to fight. He crashed into a staircase and was winded, and the woman spared his life but gave him a choice: the winner would be shot, or Santiago could come work for her. He chose the later, but he didn't know he would have to leave his budding family. The woman (who introduced herself as Cassie Cisbane) told him that he couldn't say goodbye to them; all he could do was send money to them, but without telling them where he was or what he was doing. He soon found out that he was to be a bandit along with [[Fanon:Louis Etinson|Louis Etinson]], and his first order of business was to steal three horses off a ranch, then to travel to Appaloosa Plains with his new employer.
