Thatcher returns in The Sims 4. Unlike his appearance in The Sims 3, Thatcher starts off as any other newly made sim (in other words he wasn't born wealthy), and instead of working in politics he works in the business career with his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jessica Maylenderton. This new Thatcher is also more romantic than his previous version, although he is still a serial cheater.

*Thatcher's skin type changes from tan in The Sims 2 and 3, to light in The Sims 4.
*The Sims 4 is the first game in which Thatcher doesn't work in the political career, this is simply because the political career is not yet available in The Sims 4.

Thatcher moves to Willow Creek and find an opening as a mail room technician, which he takes. Hoping to run the company he works for in ten years, Thatcher paid close attention to his job requirements so he could be promoted quickly. During his rise through the ranks he met fellow business-person Jessica Jacobs and the two started dating. She eventually moved into Thatcher's two-bedroom ranch home and the two started talks of getting married. The pair decided to work on their careers for a while longer and get married when they have more money and status in town. They bought a new, blue house together and thought their future looked bright.

The wedding eventually came and the couple married in the park in the middle of town. Unfortunetly, the wedding was the only good thing about the marriage. Jessica described the marriage as "boring," despite the relationship not really changing from dating to being married. Thatcher told her if she wanted to leave then she could just do so. She initially refused. Thatcher tried to make things work, but it soon became clear that Jessica was not interested in their relationship now that they were married. He tried taking her out on romantic dates and giving her love and attention but she never seemed like she cared. This deeply hurt Thatcher and he told her he wanted a divorce. Jessica acted nonchalant and went upstairs to bed. Seeing as his marriage was now ending he began a relationship with Dina Caliente (and had a drunken one-night-stand with her sister Nina).

Jessica did not like that Thatcher was so ready to move on from her, so she cut her hair and dyed it blonde like Dina's to try to get his attention back on her. She was surprised when he continued the divorce process. Her behavior confused Thatcher...he didn't know what she wanted from him anymore. He did his best to ignore her during the rest of their marriage. Trying to make Thatcher jealous, she flaunted her new relationship with coworker Christoff Colby in front of him, but Thatcher genuinely didn't care. Jessica got herself pregnant with Christoff's baby and the divorce went through right after the baby was born. Jessica then married Christoff in a small ceremony.

Thatcher moved his girlfriend Dina into his house and Thatcher began investing his money, often receiving thousands and thousands of dollars in positive returns in the process. This made his new girlfriend very happy, and she was ecstatic when he asked her to marry him. She said yes and immediately planned a big wedding. The two married in a lavish ceremony. Dina then convinced him to buy a large Victorian mansion as a wedding gift to her. Thatcher initially refused, but relented on their wedding day. The couple moved into their new home soon after the wedding, but Thatcher had to leave for a business trip. Telling Dina to buy some "sensible" furniture to fill their ginormous mansion, Thatcher left for his trip. He returned to see the dining room filled with expensive furniture and the rest of the mansion empty. Dina had spent all the leftover cash on an extremely expensive dining set and paintings, seemingly unaware of why those were the wrong things to buy. This lead Thatcher into believing maybe he married someone too...immature...

*This is the first game in which Thatcher is an adult and does not know Ronald Hunt very well. The other games had their lives pretty connected at this point, but here they barely know each other. Thatcher is best friends with Ophera, though.
