At a young age, Vanessa was often favoured by her parents due to her talents in sport compared to her weedy brother. She could easily out toddle him and often won in the fight for the lone milk bottle. She was also charismatic and charmed people with her babble. She was good at most things but Thomas was better at Potty training as he was more patient. At school, she had many friends and also gained the nickname Nessie due to an strange encounter on a school trip. She had many friends and didn't notice her best friend, Mathew had a big crush on her. As a teen, she began dating Mathew but(to his disappointment)it was not working and after a new girl, Claire and Vanessa had a crush on her, it was over. They began dating but then her homophobic dad found out. After a big fight about 'values', Vanessa left to live with her [[Fanon:Annabel Owens|aunt]] and [[Fanon:Joseph Owens|uncle]] who were accepting and after they heard the story broke off contact with her old family at her request. She broke up with Claire after they went to different colleges.
