== Life leading up to ''The Sims 2'' ==
Although Flat is no longer living at the start of ''[[The Sims 2]]'', the Broke family tree tells us that Flat was married to [[Flo Broke]], and that they are the parents of [[Skip Broke]]. Oddly, neither Ruby, Buck, Trigger or Susie are mentioned or featured in the family tree. All three of them were deceased before the start of ''The Sims 2'''s storyline, which leaves [[Skip Broke|Skip]]'s wife, [[Brandi Broke]], widowed and raising her sons ([[Dustin Broke]], [[Beau Broke]], and an unborn son, which she is expecting at the start of the game), who are Flat's grandchildren. Oddly, Ruby, Trigger, Buck and Susie are not mentioned, nor featured on the family tree and their whereabouts after The Sims 3 are unknown. At the time of his death, Flat's hair had gone fully grey, he had no beard and wore his hair in a ponytail. The fact that he has brown hair in [[The Sims 3]], and his natural hair color is blonde in [[The Sims 2]], implies he dyed it brown while he was an [[elder]]. Strangely, while he had brown eyes in ''The Sims 3'', he had dark blue eyes in ''The Sims 2''.
Flat uses a character portrait pose that was discontinued for his gender during development.
