A food processor will be used whenever food needs to be chopped, but will not be used at other times. There are food preparation surfaces that are slightly better than a food processor, but food processors still have advantages. They speed preparation of food that needs to be chopped, especially for Sims with lower [[Cooking]] skill. Using a food processor keeps the counter it sits on clean, even when used by a sloppy Sim. Also, it appears that food processors don't need to be cleaned.
