Line 14:
The Forbidden Fruit seed is a Special plant, and requires level 7 [[Gardening (The Sims 3)#Abilities|Gardening]] skill to plant. Once planted, it will require 4 days to fully bloom and be ready to be harvested. The player will be able to select "Tend Garden" or "Pick Forbidden Fruit". "Tend Garden" will produce an edible fruit, which will be placed in the Sim's inventory. "Pick Forbidden Fruit" has a 50/50 chance of producing an edible fruit or a PlantSim baby. A Forbidden Fruit plant only produces one fruit (or baby), and becomes barren after being harvested.

An edible Forbidden Fruit can also be produced by using the Science Research Station to analyze a Forbidden Fruit seed and to clone the sample.

When a normal Sim who is a [[Teen#The Sims 3|teen]] or older eats a Forbidden Fruit, he or she will receive a "Botanitis Minorous" moodlet. If the moodlet is not cured within 4 hours, the Sim who ate the fruit will become a PlantSim. However, this does not seem to occur every time, as a vampire may not turn into a PlantSim.
