New Years has passed, this discussion is no longer relevant

Yes, I know I'm very late, but I'd like to share this, anyway.

Since Christmas is already five days behind us(or four), some users have been commenting that the Christmas layout should be taken out. But instead of reverting to the standard layout, we could instead have a new one based on the New Year.

The background itself would have a very dark blue in the upper areas, which darkens to a full black in the lower region. The Plumbobs could be sort of like fireworks. Whether they're in actual firework shapes or just coloured like fireworks is to be decided. They would vary in colours, being either white, green, yellow, red, dark blue or purple.

The headers would vary between each type. The ones that are displayed above boxes such as "Recent Wiki Activity" would be dark blue or red, while the headers that appear to the right of the wiki logo and appear in certain buttons such as "Publish", "Edit" and "Join the Chat" could be yellow.

Unfortunately, because there are only two days remaining for the new year, it's unlikely that the layout could be done in time, although it could still be used in the short period after the 1st of January. Or, if it's still too late, it could be reserved for the next new year. After all, it could look pretty nifty.

I don't think the lateness of the suggestion should stop you from implementing it, provided you're able to come up with a design in time for the event. I have an idea. We might not have enough time for a New Years Day layout, but since TSW's 10th birthday is around the corner (actually in February, but whatever) I suggest we focus on making a layout for TSW's 10th as that is more significant to our community specifically. ―The Tim Man ^{(Infinite Histories • Galactic Crucibles • The Sims Wiki • Hallows Maleficent • Why I'm here in the first place)} 00:08, December 31, 2014 (UTC)

I like that idea. There's a good chance the wiki's overall theme will change between now and the next New Year, so any New Year's theme we create could be outdated by the time we get around to implementing it. We are well past New Years now and this thread in its current form is no longer relevant.
