Just my personal theory to make her fit better into the overall lore (even though she's part of an "alternate universe", or whatever). Flamenco married her after Nighat died, which explains why she's so young compared to Nina and Dina. She then pretty much inherited everything after Flamenco died too. The Sims 4 is alternate timeline. This is a good theory. I feel like the entire alternate universe explanation is completely unnecessary. The timeline has never been completely consistent anyway. Katrina being their stepmother doesn't contradict anything in the original story but adds to the story in a way that makes sense.
