Greetings, I hope to- having done a lot of reading on policy- avoid any mishap. I was looking through the Fanon and didn't notice any of them taking place in Oasis Landing's Utopian setting. Now I know some may be thinking "what stories are there to tell in that place?" Well that's where I come in it would seem.

In a Utopian setting I see an opportunity for Childrens/Adolescent Fiction style stories. Stories regarding good behavior (specifically by Sims standards), Family Life, Friendship, even Romance of the Sweet variety. Nature may be nice but the wasteland is still a wasteland and there can be Man vs Nature narratives taking place.

I also understand that one person's Utopia is another's Dystopia; Utopia I feel is no exception to this. It's not something one wants to think about but it lingers in my mind.

The name of the planned Fanon is 'Utopia' (at leas such is the present name).

The Fanon begins not in Oasis Landing but in the past starting off as the story of a Toymaker in Twinbrook (Inventor with the Titanic Toymachine), his wife a writer, and their toddler son. The story will have the Toymaker create a SimBot, his wife continue to write Childrens Fiction, and their son become a Child. The son doesn't become Handy like his father but does become a Bot Fan- though he's more of the 'conceptualizer' then 'builder'. He's creative but lacking in technical knowledge. He's sweet but shows himself to be Socially Awkward latter in life. He's always thinking of goodness but hasn't really gotten along with others- finding it hard to understand their way of thinking.

This son ends up being the one to meet Emit (the Time Traveler) after having a family of his own. He travels to the future alone and tours it for himself. The interaction with Emit takes place and he returns to the Present rather then seek out fragments in the Wasteland. Motivated by something that happened while he was in University the son opts to talk about society to Emit, and how it didn't seem like people themselves really changed. To which Emit, having experienced all possible futures and being a bit wild takes this as an excuse to change the timeline again. The son under Emit's guidance sets in motion events to alter Oasis Landing for the better.

Years pass, the son passes into the nether and his children go different ways in a world that's changing due to the effect of Dew. His daughter ends up in Starlight Shores, becoming employed as a maid where she finds an Old Lamp ans wishes for World Peace. While his son discovers a none fiction book written by his father detailing the future and with that as inspiration builds a Bot Building Station shortly after the first Servos hit the market (generating a growing market in Robotics). He becomes the father of Plumbotics and starts tinkering with Inventing but doesn't master it.

His sister moves back in with her husband after having a son of her own. This son interacts with his cousin who will eventually create a time machine (but not one capable of going to Oasis Landing). That will happen in the next generation.

Which ever decendent reaches Oasis Landing (Utopia) will change their surname to Utopian and remain in Oasis Landing where the rest of the Fanon will take place (with perhaps a few stories detailing the other branches of the family). Initial struggle will be found in this person who stays not really fitting in that well and their child/children finding their father just a little awkward.

The catch I have is that this 'Utopian' branch of the family has a high risk of suffering from a time paradox should they go back to their present as their genetics are not truly of either time. I plan to add more locations to Oasis Landing in this Fanon to expand possible narratives in the setting. --Baron Joshua (talk) 00:41, August 13, 2018 (UTC)
