It was actually based on my love for Astrology and anything that was "Space" related. Some of my friends think that Pokemon is lame, which it isn't, so I on occasion will say it came from the incorrect spelling of pigeon (back in the day when we thought it was pidgeon) and the dinosaur "veloci''raptor''". *'''SoaringDragon''': I came up with this username as I was registering for the MapleStory Sea Forums 7 years ago (because I didn't know that Global existed and was a total n00b at gaming on the internet). At that time I had semi-recently found out that, since I was born in January, I was a dragon and not a snake...and I love dragons. Anyway, I tried "Dragon" and it was obviously taken, so the forum prompted with some other variations and none of them really clicked. Then I thought "Dragons soar right?" So I appended "Soaring" to the front and that became my go-to username from then on. Surprisingly, it was unique to me for a long while so I use it for pretty much everything.
