Somehow, my sims got stuck in the future. They do fine, and as long as I remain in the future nothing happens, but if I ever want to return to the past, the game simply crashes and I get an error pop-up from Windows prompting me to close the game. What can I do (if there is something I can do)? What happened? I don't want to lose the Sims I left in the past. It took me months to get that family to where it currently is.

If you need more info, I've installed TS3, Supernatural and Into the Future. The patch is the latest one required to play Into the future.

I reccomend a very simple method of reverting to last save. Go to Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3, and there should be a file named "saves". There should be two files with your town name. Just delete the one that reads "Town Name.sims3" and rename the one that says "Town Name.sims3.backup" to Town Name.sims3". It works for me in similar binds.

And never send Sims in that neighborhood to the future again, just to be on the safe side. But if you do and it crashes again, same fix will do. The Raven Nevermore 20:33, March 5, 2014 (UTC)Slade81

Sounds like it could work, but there's another issue I forgot to say when I posted the original thread. I saved the game when in the future, several times. Then, 3 or 4 savegames later, I said "Well, let's get those Sims back to present". OMG, why? Game crashes for free, everybody! I think I've got a backup file I did myself, but it's roughly 50 gameplay hours behind. Seems like I'm gonna have to start over. Roughly one or two months for me.

I agree with the part of never sending them to the future again. Sounds logic.

Oh well, --Baluar (talk) 20:14, March 6, 2014 (UTC)
