On a sort of historical fiction for SimNation, using Maxis characters and characters that can reasonably assumed to exist under Maxis canon? I recently started studying history seriously for the first time, and I'd love to write like that; the problem is, of course, my hilarious level of ignorance. Chronological consistency has always been one of the most important aspects of my sim games, so it would be nice to have a standard not to deviate from, and even better if I could have the help of fellow simmers in devising it! —Dr. Professor 01:07, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Let's do it! I'm all for this idea -- how do we start?

For The Sims 2, I would write out a synopsis of the memories of my sims in narrative form to use to keep track of everyone's story, and index cards with each person's family connections, personality, and skills. I played The Sims 2 a lot differently than I can play The Sims 3... mainly because I could wait to age up an entire generation after playing everyone, unlike in S3. Plus I was in doctoral school then and approached everything more methodologically.

I come to sims.wikia.com to remind me of the basic canon, like that Dina Caliente was married to Michael Bachelor before we knew he was Bella's brother. We'd have to have a plot other than the most basic family history for everyone, and that work has been done for us here on this site. Levka (talk) 23:18, November 13, 2012 (UTC)
