Video games are object in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. They give fun to the Sims who use them, unless they have the Technophobe trait. The SimLife Goggles can be used for a lot of other uses, combined with cheats and/or mods. It's also the most expensive video game, and refers to "virtual reality".

Maxoid video game console is a basic console which needs a TV. Videos in the computers are free. There are sometimes the same than the consoles ones.

When you first buy a game console or a computer in The Sims 2, the only game it comes with is SSX 3. You can buy The Sims Bustin' Out, The Urbz: Sims in the City or SimCity 4 at shops in the base game. The Sims 2: Free Time adds more games. You can buy MySims and FIFA 08, and Rod Humble will come buy your house with a package that has The Sims 3 and a new computer.

In The Sims, there was a virtual life game you could buy, and it came with virtual life goggles.
