Unlike the conventional [[The Sims series|The Sims games]], a goal system is used in ''[[The Sims Bustin' Out (console)|The Sims Bustin' Out]]'', titled "Bust Out Mode", which acts as the replacement for the [[Game guide:Get a Life storyline|Get a Life mode]] from the [[The Sims (console)|console version of the first ''The Sims'' game]]. Like Get a Life mode, completing various objectives during gameplay unlock various items in the Buy area of the free play mode. All the goals and details of how to complete them are below.
