Unusually, there are two repairwomen instead of one of each gender, and it is heavily implied that Mario was actually meant to be male, with a male name and referred to as "he" in her bio. The fact that she is female may have been an oversight or a last-minute change to her character without fixing her bio.
Additionally, they appear to be a reference to Mario and Princess Peach from the ''Super Mario Bros.'' franchise, including the fact that Mario in that series is a plumber and Peach, being a princess, wears expensive clothing as Gwennie is stated to do. Despite this, neither of them resemble the characters they reference.
