'''James Briggs''' is a pre-made [[adult]] [[Sim]] from [[Mesa Flats]], one of the [[Neighborhood|neighborhoods]] shipped with ''[[The Sims Pet Stories]]''. He is [[marriage|married]] to [[Kadisha Briggs]] and his best friend is [[Stephen Loyal]]. James works in the Vice Squad of the police force in the [[Law Enforcement]] [[career]] track. It is said that he wanted to be a police officer ever since he can remember. At the beginning of the [[Midnight Masquerade]] story, James runs from [[Celeste Girard]]'s wedding to remind Stephen about his cousin's wedding at [[List of Mesa Flats lots#A Little Salmon Wedding Chapel|A Little Salmon Wedding Chapel]]. At the wedding buffet, Stephen asks James who [[Gordon Fetching]] is and James tells him he is the best man of the groom, [[Damien Girard]]. He also tells Stephen that Gordon is new in town and that Stephen can kiss the ladies goodbye. Later at the wedding party, Stephen tries to ask [[Rachel Ware]] out, but she tells him she already has plans with Gordon and Stephen now understands what James meant with "kiss the ladies goobye".

A few days later, Stephen invites James over to watch the news together. The news reveals that there was a con-man operating in [[Arbor Falls]] and that he may have moved on to Mesa Flats.

A couple days later, James meets up with Stephen at [[List of Mesa Flats lots#Flat Hat Bar|Flat Hat Bar]] to play poker and he tells Stephen that the Police in Arbor Falls had determined that the con-man's last name starts with an S which means Gordon Fetching can't be the guy. While they're talking, Rachel comes and joins the game. She later dances with Stephen and while she's at the ladies' room, Gordon arrives with his henchman [[Anthony Zilch]]. Gordon beats Stephen up because he warned him about Rachel and Anthony decides to fight James, but loses. When Rachel comes back Gordon asks Rachel to the masquerade, but she wants to go with Stephen. Gordon and Anthony then leave.

Later in the story, Stephen runs into James at [[List of Mesa Flats lots#Six Points Plaza|Six Points Plaza]] and tells him he's in love. James asks him with who, but does not get an answer. James says they are catching up with the con-man and Stephen is convinced that it's Gordon hiding behind a false name and that [[Erin Davis]] and Rachel are in trouble.

On the Masquerade day, Stephen and James work together to expose [[Gordon Fetching]] as the con-man that had moved to Mesa Flats. James is also at [[List of Mesa Flats lots#Amber Hall|Amber Hall]] during the Midnight Masquerade. After Stephen manages to get all the needed information from Anthony and tells James that the real last name of Gordon is Schickel, James immediately leaves to the police station to check the name and there it turns out they were right. He then returns with the police right after [[Julianne Charlot]] announced Gordon as the king of the Midnight Masquerade and arrests him in front of everyone. While Diva also stops Anthony from escaping. Stephen is then annouced king instead and has to choose his queen.

James and his wife Kadisha live in [[List of Mesa Flats lots#56 Newland Avenue|56 Newland Avenue]] and become playable from there after the story.
