It's possible she married Tom for his money, since she's a gold digger and has the [[Commitment Issues]] trait. She is also the mother of [[Dallas Shallow|Dallas]] and [[MaryKay Shallow]]. She is disliked by her father-in-law, [[Kurt Shallow|Kurt]]. It is unknown why this is, though it is possible that he knows that June is a gold digger and doesn't really care about his son. If this is the case, then Kurt is very hypocritical since he is also a gold digger. In her inventory, June carries a laptop and a book.
