The Playground is an object available in The Sims, The Sims 2: Apartment Life and The Sims 3. It appears as a miscellaneous item in TS1, it is somewhat expensive and can only be used by children. In TS1 it has a slide and jungle gym and in the description it is regarded as a "clean and drug-free environment". It does not appear in the base game of The Sims 2 but is added in the Apartment Life expansion pack, and is at most premade apartments and parks in Belladonna Cove. It again returns in The Sims 3. The playground has always been a children's object. The playground is also available in The Sims (console) and The Sims Bustin' Out and can only be used by kids. The playground in the console games is the same one as the one in The Sims.

A swingset was in The Sims 2 base game, and might also fall into the playground category.
