The playground is an object available in The Sims, The Sims 2: Apartment Life and The Sims 3. It can only be used by children.

In The Sims, it appears as a miscellaneous item, is somewhat expensive, and it has a slide and jungle gym. Its description says it is regarded as a "clean and drug-free environment".

The Sims 2 only included a swingset, but more playground equipment was added in the Apartment Life expansion pack, and is at most pre-made apartments and parks in Belladonna Cove. It can be found in buy mode under "Kids".

The playground returns again in The Sims 3. While only children can "Play" on the playground, in The Sims 2 and The Sims 3, teens can "Hang Out" on it. It can be found in buy mode under Outdoor Activities.

The playground is also available in The Sims (console) and The Sims Bustin' Out and can only be used by kids. The playground in the console games is the same as the one in The Sims.
