His name is probably meant to sound like "languid", which makes a certain amount of sense for a Sim with the [[Couch Potato]] trait.
 
Despite the fact that he starts with no [[skill]] when first played, he actually has high [[hidden skills]] of level 3 in Video Game, 7 in [[Hacking]], and 3 in [[Chess]]. He has the highest Hacking skill between his roommates. Lang is a fat [[Couch Potato]] who [[Hates the Outdoors]]. It's implied that he plays the [[video game]] in his room everyday, which makes bad impression in his job. He works as a Decoy in [[Criminal#The Sims 3|Criminal]] career, but his performance is very low, which is 50% towards the bottom. If he didn't improve his performance, he might eventually be fired. However, his [[lifetime wish]] is to work in [[Ghost Hunter]] career, which means it's better for him to leave his job and start in this [[profession]].
Lang could be of Welsh descent as his surname "Gwydd", pronounced "Gwiv". It means "Goose", and is a common surname in Gaelic and Welsh culture.
 
Lang is friends with Justin, but acquaintances with Wei. Their relationship is too poor to be friends, but not negative. He is friends with his neighbor, [[Anna-Liza Riddle]], and enemies with their other neighbors, [[Bobby Sargeant|Bobby]] and [[Scout Sargeant]]. Oddly, Wei is friends with the Sargeants and enemies with Anna-Liza. Lang is also romantically involved with [[Dilly Pidgin]]. She, however, has a large age gap with Lang. She is in the middle-end of her adulthood, while Lang is in the early of his age in young adult.
