A virtual Easter egg is a hidden message or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, or video game. The term draws a parallel with the custom of the Easter egg hunt observed in many western nations. (from the wikipedia article)

There are many easter eggs in the Sims and Sims 2 games. Some of these are hidden in the game and others are hidden in the code.

Sims 1 easter eggs

  • I don't know any. Please fill this in.

Sims 2 easter eggs

  • Bella goth: There are many references to the mysterious sim in the games. [[[Bella Goth]]] appears on the milk cartons and newspapers of the game. In the texture files of the fireplace there is a small hidden picture of Bella in the right hand corner. It is rumoured Bella is hidden in the balloon neighbourhood object in the game, but this is supposed to be the blonde bombshell from the Sims downtown expansion pack. Bella appears in many of the decorative photographs of the game, and also a picture to herself 'Bella Squared'.
  • Freezer bunny: Almost as common as the Bella easter eggs is the freezer bunny, representing a pink bunny cartoon and first appearing on the back of a juice carton in the community lot freezers, hence the name.
  • Olive Spectors ghosts: Some of Olive Spectors ghosts have very interesting names, among them 'Riggor Mortis'.
  • Llamas: Llamas appeared throughout both the sims 1 and sims 2 games, the theme appears as the mascot of the college in the Sim 2 University and various pictures.
  • The flying pig: A neighbourhood object/ event released with OFB.
  • The spaceship: A neighbourhood object/ event released wuth Pets.
  • The spaceship's number plate: Says 'am8er'. When an abduction occurs on the lot and the UFO comes to return the sim, the numberplate can be seen.
