These songs are separated into in-game songs that are played in [[Buy mode|Buy]]/[[Build mode]]s, map view, loading screens, and [[Create a Sim]]; and Simlish songs that are played in different [[radio station]]s in [[stereo]]s and wall speakers. Each [[expansion pack]] includes songs, while some stuff packs don't include any songs, such as ''[[Outdoor Living Stuff]]'', ''[[Town Life Stuff]]'', and ''[[Master Suite Stuff]]''. Although ''[[Showtime]]'', ''[[University Life]]'', and ''[[Into the Future]]'' appear to not contain any music, ''University Life'' includes a [[Sims University]] loading screen theme, Sims University attendation test loop, and aptitude test loop; while ''Into the Future'' has loading screen theme and future changer loop. One radio station is reserved for custom music, where players can include their own songs, which is "Custom" radio station. Players can include their songs from copying them to their game folder in <code>C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Custom Music</code> (Windows 7).
