Twins are the only multiple birth that happens in The Sims 2. Twins are very rare, but if you actually want twins, there are ways to increase the odds.

Naturally, twins require more work from the parents than just one baby. I don't recommend feeding the twins at the same time, as you'll end up with two screaming babies needing a diaper change at the same time. Feed them a few real time minutes apart, then at least you'll have time to change twin 1's diaper and put them in the crib before twin 2's thumbnail goes yellow. Speaking of diaper changes, if one parent fears diaper changing, too bad. Tell them to suck it up and order them to change that stinky, screaming baby's diaper! Of course, you could always enlist the help of a nanny or other family members, but this isn't reccomended, as I personally like it when my babies are handled by the parents from day 1, in order to have a close bond with the parents.

Twins are the only multiple birth that happens in The Sims 2. Twins can be both fraternal and identical, in some cases, with, for example, a white mother and black father, the twins can have different skin colors. Twins are very rare, but if you actually want twins, there are ways to increase the odds.

Getting Twins

The amount of babies conceived is decided at conception (unlike gender or genetics, which is decided at birth). To increase the odds of conceiving twins:

  • eat spaghetti or cheesecake right before Trying for Baby.
  • do the "forcetwins" cheat before conception, which guarantees twins. "twinsr2cute" is said to work by some but has been called bogus by others. It's up to you.
  • if one of your Sims is a twin or one of your parents is a twin, you are more apt to produce twins.

The Care and Keeping of Twins

Naturally, twins require more work from the parents than just one baby. I don't recommend feeding the twins at the same time, as you'll end up with two screaming babies needing a diaper change at the same time. Feed them a few real time minutes apart, then at least you'll have time to change twin 1's diaper and put them in the crib before twin 2's thumbnail goes yellow. Speaking of diaper changes, if one parent fears diaper changing, too bad. Tell them to suck it up and order them to change that stinky, screaming baby's diaper! Of course, you could always enlist the help of a nanny or other family members, but this isn't recommended, as I personally like it when my babies are handled by the parents from day 1, in order to have a close bond with the parents. Toddler twins are even harder to deal with, as they are so dependent on you. If there is a possibility of you having twins, make sure to have the working parent accumulate vacation time.

Twins in the Sims 2

Several sets of twins are important to Sims 2 storylines:

  • Angela and Lilith Pleasant of Pleasantview
  • Beatrice and Benedick Monty of Veronaville
  • Samantha and Kimberly Cordial of Belladonna Cove
  • Lola and Chloe Singles (Curious) of Strangetown
  • the unborn Ottomas twins of Riverblossom Hills
