Live Mode is one of three modes in the game (the others being Build mode and Buy mode) in which the actual events of your Sim's lives play out. While the other modes are for editing the current lot either in structure or decoration, this one is where everything happens, and the game comes to life.
Unlike Build and Buy mode, Live mode does not have the Square markers on the floors of the area and the speed of which it runs can be controlled.
