The '''Mysterious Mr. Gnome''' is a special item found in ''[[The Sims 3]]''. They are nameable, and can be stored in the [[inventory]] of a [[Sim]]. The Mysterious Mr. Gnome iscan kickable,be like any gnomekicked, but unlike a regular garden gnome, he cannot be cloned with the eyedropper tool,. andHe has a habit of sneaking around the house.

The player will never see the gnomeMysterious Mr. Gnome sneaking around, unless they are incredibly lucky. Instead, he will disappear from his current location and reappear elsewhere on the lot. He changes position on the lot at approximately 1 AM. If kicked, he falls in odd positions that are unusual for a gnome and sometimes ends up with a plaster across the bridge of his nose. When he moves, a yellow cloud will appear around him, and he will disappear.

Sometimes, the Simsim will automatically walk to the new location of the Gnome. It is impossible to prevent the gnome from moving; even if walls are built around him, The Mysterious Mr. Gnome will still pop upappear anywhere on the lot. His mysterious disappearing act usually causes him to materialisematerialize next to an object (e.g. Boom boxstereo, plant, couch, washing machine). He will even interact with some objects; for example, when he appears next to T.Vs or stereos, he turns them on. (Possibly waking sleeping Sims, so watch out!) If The Magical Gnome Of InventingInvention appears next to a [[Scraptastic™ Workbench]] with an unfinished project on it, he will magically completemake it to 99% complete. A Sim at level 10 in the [[Science]] career can perform experiments on these gnomes. All Mysterious Mr. Gnomes sell for §1,000, although kicking the gnome can sometimes result in a decrease in value, thus making him worth only §999. It is possible to have multiple gnomes in one household. This can be accomplished by using the miner, finding them in random places and hoarding them, or by using the cheat "buydebug on" and clicking on the "misc." tab under the question mark in buy mode.

Occasionally the Magical Gnome of Invention may stand on the ScraptasitcScraptastic Workbench and watch your Sim invent. When this happens, if you leave the work benchworkbench with an unfinished invention the invention may jump to 99% complete and the Gnome will return to other tasks.

A Hip-Hiphop gnome from ''[[The Sims 3: Late Night]]''. He adopts rapping and dancing poses and can be received as a celebrity gift.

This gnome gives every non-vampire Sim (other than Sims with the [[Brave]] trait) on the lot the 'Hunted' moodlet. This gnome has the power to transform a teddy bear into a Vampire gnome.

The [[Freezer Bunny]], with a gnome hat. There is a 0.1% chance of spawning every time a dog barks or cat freaks out at the fridge. Sometimes seen holding an icecream cone or sitting on a llama. Also, may be found sleeping or sunbathing in the sun.

The Zenyatta leaves produce around the yard for a Sim's animals.

Can be obtained from the Claw machine in the Supernatural expansion or as a reward when successfully researching ghosts at the Vault of Antiquity. It can also be found on the lot when a Sim is cursed with the haunting curse.

This gnome summons ghosts to yourthe lot.

This gnome has a chance of showing up in a Sim's inventory when collecting eggs at the spring festival in the Seasons expansion. Appears quite frequently when Sims garden as well. This gnome can be found on your lot with the Seasons expansion if a player has built a lot of snowmen, and can be bought at the winter festival consession stand with enough tickets.

Evil Mr. Gnome has the same base figure as the base game version of Mysterious Mr. Gnome, but with a few differences. He has a red hat with flames, a long gray beard with a black mustache, black eye paint, a red button-down shirt, and black plantspants. Sims can find him by receiving him in the mail or through trick-or-treating. Evil Gnomes can leave trash around, fight with base game Mysterious Mr. Gnomes, frighten children and give them nightmares, knock over the trash, un-make beds, and create puddles. Also, other ways to get him are by having enemies or just simply being evil.

}}  This gnome appears in a Sim's inventory after they graduate from  [[Sims University]]. Also, while a Sim is in class, a message may pop up saying "A Graduation Gnome was hiding in between some pages of your textbook," and the Sim will acquire it.

With ''[[The Sims 3: Generations]]'', the Mysterious Mr. Gnome can "get married" and have gnome children (this only applies to Mysterious Mr. Mysterious Gnome).<ref>http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/377902.page</ref> The children start as toddlers and will age to children, then rebellious looking teens, then adults, the default look of the gnome, then elders. Gnomes will die after becoming elders, and they will have a respective tombstone, although it can only be bought through cheats. They are surrounded by yellow sparkles when they age.
