For the military boarding school in The Sims 3: Generations, see Boarding school#Fort Starch Military School.

In The Sims, including console versions and The Sims Bustin' Out, children whose grades stay at F for too long are sent to Military School and are never seen again. The day before they are sent, they will get a warning saying that their poor grades are putting them into the express line for military school and if grades aren't improved, they will be sent there. The sim child must go to school the next day in a good mood or else they will be sent to military school at 11am. A blue box will come up saying there are no more chances and that military school is their next stop. After a few seconds, the camera will automatically zoom straight to the child, where they change into a grey military uniform and do a salute. They will say they are off to military school and if only they had studied at school. They will then leave the house without saying goodbye and be gone forever. Although military school is never seen, it is considered to be like an army base for children, with drill sergeants and obstacle courses. A child who is sent to military school will never be seen again. There is no way to get them back, not even by cheat.

There is a possible way to stop the military school process once the warning is given without going to school. The child can study via computer or bookshelf until they get an A or B mark, but they must study for a long time and the mood must be very good. The grade will drop down to a B if on an A mark or a C if on a B mark, but the child will not be sent to military school.

Surprisingly enough, parents or other family members will not mourn their child leaving to military school. They will continue on in their lives as if the child never left. Military school is the equivilant of an adult leaving after losing a fight. They will never come back and they will never be able to be played again. They will be removed from the whole game completely, unless you do not save. If Cassandra Goth, Daniel or Jennifer Pleasant is sent to military school, a fresh reinstall of the game will bring them back, but created children will never come back no matter what.
