Chewing and Scratching are new needs that were introduced to The Sims 2: Pets. Chewing applies to dogs, and scratching applies to cats.
To have a dog relieve the chewing need, buy it the squeaky bone under miscellanious>pets in the buy mode. To make a dog use it, use the praise/scold commands in the correct times. To make a dog use the squeaky bone, praise it when it is chewing the bone, and scold it when it chews furniture.
To have a cat relieve the scratch need, buy the scratching post or kitty condo, praise the cat when it scratches it, and scold the cat when it scratches furniture. The condo and the scratching post are under missolanious>pets.
