NRaas Industries is a website that is created by Twallan. NRaas Suite maintains many mods for The Sims 3, including MasterController, Overwatch, and StoryProgression, amongst others.

NRaas mods can be installed independently. They may be installed all at once, just one, or any combination in between. Some mods have optional modules, which require the respective mod to be installed. More information about this in the following sections.

As of January 5, 2014, Twallan retired from updating his mods. He released the source for his mods for other modders to release and update to patch 1.66 and above here. Since then, other members of the NRaas community continues to update Twallan's mods.

Script Mods

This section is in need of additional information. You can help The Sims Wiki by expanding this section.

The following are a list of script mods. This means that while it's highly recommended you update them every time you upgrade to a later patch level, it's often not strictly required. However, problems may be encountered if something in the game's code mod depends on has been changed. While older versions of mods are often available for download, they are no longer supported.

Animator

Animator is a mod that provides a more robust interface for performing existing game animations.

AntiMagicScroll

In The Sims 3, sims will lose recipes and musical compositions after they read or learn them.

AntiMagicScroll is a mod that changes this behavior, so if a sim learns a recipe or a musical composition, it will still be available for other sims to use.

Careers

The Careers mod is a framework for other mods, which provide additional careers for sims. By itself, it's not very useful so installing some extra modules is required for this mod to be useful.

While other mod writers use this framework, Twallan himself has written a few that are available for download at his web site. They are the following:

Assassination

The Assassination career is for a sim to have a hitman career. It provides a custom Assassination skill that contains kill statistics, and provides rewards for sims that complete additional levels.

Part-time

The part-time careers module contains several additional part-time rabbit-hole careers primarily intended for teen sims, though they could be used by any sim that is a teenager or a higher life stage. If the teenager holding the job switches over to the equivalent full-time career, they will retain their career level and performance.

A few of them include:

  • Candy Striper - Based out of the hospital rabbit-hole.
  • School Janitor - Based out of the school rabbit-hole.
  • Waiter - Based out of the restaurant rabbit-hole.

To download it, or for more information: Careers - Part-time

Self-Employed

Expanding upon the Ambitions EP, the self-employed careers module adds several additional self-employment options.

Consigner

The Consigner fixes a few issues with the way cash registers work, as well as expands the number of items that may be sold at the registers.

Cupcake

This mod allows for automatic restock of the chiller and rack display's from the Sims 3 store's Deliciously Indulgent Bakery. Users have the choice of picking a menu of recipes to restock with or allow the random system to restock the displays.

DebugEnabler

The DebugEnabler is a framework for adding manual debugging interactions for error correction and other various reasons. Most players and users will not need this mod.

Dreamer

The Dreamer alters the way dreams are satisfied and how long they remain available.

Dresser

The Dresser replaces black-listed CAS parts with random selections, as well as add random accessories, and rotate through multiple outfit choices on a period basis.

GoHere

The GoHere mod enhances the "Go Here" and "Visit Lot" interactions.

HomeOpener

This mod allows the player to see into NPC's homes without entering.

Hybrid

Fixes interface issues associated with hybrid occult sims.

MasterController

MasterController is a mod that provides a large number of features, including but not limited to tasks that would otherwise be impossible to do in game, or tasks that would take a long time to do in the proper way. A few of these tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Instantaneously change a sim's life state
  • Give a sim multiple life states
  • Arbitrarily add lifetime rewards points to a sim

MasterController may use optional modules. They are not needed in order to run and install MasterController, but can extend it's functionality.

MasterController Modules

Mover

Using this mod removes the household moving restrictions like "Requires Adult" and 8 Sims limit. It also comes with the options of altering how funds move when merging or splitting households.

OnceRead

With this mod installed sims will always pick books they haven't read when using the "Read something"  interaction on bookshelves.

Overwatch

This corrects errors by the core game and other mods.

PocketProtector

Deals with EA bungles where certain objects are not protected against deletion during use by inactive sims.

Porter

This mod corrects errors done by exporting or importing sims to and from the library.

PortraitPanel

This mod allows the player to display 24 portraits of active sims on the left side of the screen.

Register

The mod replaces the EA Role Manager with a custom version that corrects several bugs and allows for greater flexibility.

Relativity

Alters the flow of time within the game, giving the sims more time to perform actions within the sim-day.

RelationshipPanel

Replaces the menu displayed when clicking on the Relationship Panel, with a full sim interaction listing.

Saver

Periodically prompts the user to save the game, providing in-game options as to when to save.

SecondImage

Fixes an issue where the secondary image in the notification window is not clickable.

Selector

Changes how the menu system works when clicking on objects, adding error handling, and increased flexibility.

Shooless

Shooless removes the need for Sims to shoo others away when using showers, baths and toliets in the same room.

SleepFreedom

Object mod that replaces standard double beds with ones that do not have bed sharing restrictions.

StoryProgression

Many players find that EA story progression make very little progresses throughout the town, such as very few newborns as players play for longer generations. EA story progression is also notorious for emigrating random Sims at any time whenever the town is considered to be overpopulated, making some players' Sims lose their friends randomly without warning.

These kinds of behaviors are addressed by Twallan's StoryProgression mod. The mod comes up with even more options to balance the town population, and even enhance the residents such as letting them to earn skills, career progresses, and so on. The mod doesn't exactly control every single resident in the town to build skills, such as pushing them to work out, but rather, they are given chances at reasonable time whenever it is possible for them to learn a new skill.

Tagger

This mod overhauls the map tag system allowing you to tag Sims and lots automatically or manually and color the tags based on several forms of criteria. It also allows for the support of custom map tags.

Tempest

Control mod for specifying weather on a town-by-town basic. As well as various season related settings.

Traffic

Controls autonomous vehicular traffic such as the Food/Ice Cream Trucks, and provides some minor vehicle routing settings.

Traveler

Replaces the coding that controls town transitioning, adding better error catching, and altering travel restrictions.

Vector

Adds the ability to load and simulate custom diseases into the game.

Woohooer

Allows players to have teen WooHoo and pregnancy, teen-adult relationships, and teen marriage. It also gives the options for WooHoo with pets, and risky WooHoo (possibility of pregnancy).

WrittenWord

Adds all sim-written books to the in-game bookstore.

Core Mods

Currently, NRaas Industries only has two core mods; ErrorTrap and UntranslatedKey. Like all core mods, they will only work with a specific patch level.

ErrorTrap

This mod cleans up save games and provides a means of error reporting, mostly useful for players who wish to support debug reports to Twallan, or wish to write their own script mods. It's not necessary for most The Sims 3 players and users to install.

UntranslatedKey

This is a Core-Mod that overrides the SimIFace Scripting Core. Its primary purpose is to unlock the ability to see untranslated string keys in-game.
