An '''obedience trainer''' is a service NPC in ''[[The Sims 2: Pets]]''. They can help teach Sims's [[dog]]s and [[cat]]s tricks for a fee. When hired, Sims can ask the trainer to train any of their pets to do a specific command. The trainer will simply wander around the lot and slack off if they are not told to do anything, or may even leave the lot with the hourly pay. If the pet's mood drops too low or if the trainer is unable to reach the animal, the training interaction will be cancelled, and players must requeue the interaction. The trainer will also stop training once a pet has learned the command.
The obedience trainer also sell a potion ('''Lycanthropic-B''') that can cure lycanthropy, which cost §60 per unit. One, three, five or ten of limited selection offered quantities can be purchased. Trainer can be also given a tip, either from player's generosity or gratitude regardless If any service was provided.
All obedience trainer NPC names are randomized at the start of the game. Their official names are only referenced in the game files.
