Occasionally, whilst the player's sim is at work in the [[Criminal Career (The Sims 3)|criminal ]]career in [[Sims3|The Sims 3]], a policeman/woman will come to arrest them. Then, the sim will be taken to the police station for 12-24 sim hours.
The police can also come if a [[teen]] Sim runs away or breaks [[curfew]]{{vgversion|TS3}}. The parents of teen Sims who have left can call the police to find them and bring them home. This leaves a bad memory for the teen. Sometimes, the police will also catch a teen Sim who sneaks out.
