Romantic (social type)

Romantic is a social type that has appeared in The Sims era games along with Mean and Friendly. In The Sims era, Romance socials can only be used by Adults. As of The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories, Teens through Elders can use Romance socials.

Advantages
The Sims Era
One advantage of Romance socials is that they can be used to make a lover. If the romance social ends the relationship at or over 70[TS][TSC][TSBO] or 60[TU:SITC], the relationship is changed to a lover. If you get further on this, you will Propose to the other Sim can get married.

However, one disadvantage of using romance socials is that cheating can occur. If the cheating occurs, it can use a Sim to lose 50 relationship points[TS][TSC][TSBO][TU:SITC]. In The Sims 2 and The Sims Stories, about 100 points can be lost. In The Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval, it can cause you to use lose some relationship when using romance socials
As The Sims did not sort the socials, players were unsure of what socials were Romantic. The Sims 2 and The Urbz: Sims in the City resolved this problem by categorizing the socials so players know what socials are romantic.
Cheating can be prevented in The Sims 3 if the Sim has the LTR No Jealousy.
