A sink is a plumbing object in The Sims Series. Sims primary use it to clean the dishes (If there is no available working dishwasher present on the lot) and wash hands. When a Sim can't find or reach for a sink and dishwasher when cleaning the dishes, the Sim will instead choose to throw away the plate[TS1][TS2][TS3]/food[TS4] out in the outdoor garbage can. Depending on the Sim's personality, they might not wash their hands after using a toilet unless directed otherwise by the player. Certain games and expansion packs might include additional interactions, sch as sponge baths, getting a glass of water, brush teeth or to wash face. It can refill a Sim's hygiene, but normally to a slight degree than of a shower/bathtub.

Sinks are available in buy mode, in the Plumbing and Bathroom section. Typically, the object comes in a form of a stand or counter-installed. Just like any plumbing object, sinks get dirty and break overtime after using them.
