The astronomer career has two branches. Those are [[Astronomer#Astrophysicist Branch|astrophysicist branch]] and [[Astronomer#Space Explorer Branch|space explorer branch]]. The astrophysicist requires at least level 2 of both Advanced Technology and Logic skills. While the space explorer branch requires at least level 2 of both Advanced Technology and Athletic skills. |

Sims who are in the Astrophycist branch or have 1 skill point in [[Logic]] can search for stellar observatory. Based on Sim Logic and Career Levels, Sims will find Objects as with using a Telescope, only a larger variety and more distant objects. Unlike using the Telescope, players will get paintings of objects they can find. Any Sim with Logic can find/receive these Paintings, as can those Sims who have joined the Space Explorer Career Path at level 6, but Astrophysicists will be able to find the most distant and valuable objects |

Sims who worked in space explorer branch has an ability to search for stellar activity at the stellar observatory. And when they reached level 10, they will have an ability to travel to Simulon V. In this ability, Sims can teleport to another planet in attempt to extract Star Dust or Dark Matter. This is also used once every 4 hours. Sometimes, this ability can help Sims find valuable objects during this interaction |
