Stylists work from 9 AM to 7 PM, Tuesdays through Saturdays, but they don't have to stay in the salon the whole time. In fact, as they get better at their jobs, stylists will spend most of their time driving to clients' homes to perform makeovers. These jobs are tracked through the "Career" tab as well as a new mode in Map View that allows players to view "Jobs and Opportunities." Between working on jobs in the community, stylists can work from home with the Styling Stage (available in buy mode) or at the new salon community lot (which also houses the tattoo chair) and try to sell their services to the various Sims that wander in.

Friendly, charismatic sims seem to have more success selling their services, but a high [[painting]] skill is essential for success. This skill can be acquired in the usual way with the easel, or Sims may use a new object, the Drafting Board, to study new fashions or architectural styles. Studying at the drafting board produces fashion or architecture sketches, which can be hung on the walls or sold like paintings. On occasion, you will be asked to create multiple outfits of the same category for the Sim, to add another outfit, click on the plus sign in makeover mode.
