'''Sylvia the social worker''' is an [[NPC]] [[social worker]] who appears in ''[[The Sims]]''. She will come only to collect neglected [[Baby|babies]] who have not been cared for after several simSim hours. An hour before she makes her arrival, she will warn the family that the baby is being neglected and to start caring for the baby or they will be relieved from their parenting duties. If the baby is not cared for within the next hour, she will arrive with an announcement saying she has come take away the suffering baby. She will then take the baby and walk away with it in her hands and leave. The baby won't be seen again. She will teleport to the baby if there is something blocking her path. She can't be interacted with in anyway.

*There is a cheat that can send the social worker away. Just as she arrives, go to buy mode and use the move_objects on cheat. Then delete the social worker. The baby will be reborn but it will have to be renamed and it might not be the same gender. YouThe player will also have to care for the baby for another three days before it becomes a child.

*Unlike it'slater predecessors,games in the series, Sylvia will not come for children if their needs drop low or if all adults on the lot die.
