There are four discrete levels of experience: no badge, bronze, silver, and gold. Generally, Sims start with no badges at all, though original Maxis-made [[townie]]s (including [[Garden Club]] members), will often have a random assortment of badges. Other exceptions are [[Servo]]s, who can start with a random assortment of badges when they are activated, PlantSims, who have a gold badge in gardening, and [[Bigfoot]], who has gold in all talent badges (depending on which Expansion Packs are installed).
