This is happening to me, too... I suspect it may have something to do with expansion packs. What do you have installed? I have nightlife, seasons, apartment life, celebration, ikea, teen style, familyfun, and pets.
== Boolprop cheat ==
I have all the expansions and most of the stuff packs. After Seasons was installed, the boolprop cheat for abduction no longer works. The option still shows up, but nothing occurs when you select it and three days later still nothing occurs. EA probably figured it was no longer needed and wrote it out of the choices but neglected to clean it up completely.
