My cousin who owns TS3 told me that you can only have one main family (with wishes, etc), as opposed to as many as you want in TS2. Is it true?

Someone had roof objects in the unique to The Sims 3 section, when roof objects were first introduced in The Sims 2. It has been corrected. Clearly, someone didn't play Sims 2 enough before thinking they knew the differences between Sims 2 and Sims 3. Another on that is a lot of people online claim going to work with your sim is new, when it's in both Sims 1 (Modeling, Acting, Stand-Up Comedy) & Sims 2 (Writing, Fishing, Gardening, Toy Making, Flower Arranging, Inventor, Cooking, Small Business), and The Sims 3 base game (Writing, Painting, Fishing, Gardening).

:There's a difference between hobbies, owning a business (in TS2), making things, writing, or using skills to make money, versus actually holding down employment. Up until now, there has been no way to see a Sim when they are actually at work since things that you've mentioned don't count as working since they do not involve formal employment. That's just my opinion however, and I'd like to see how others weigh in on this. --LostInRiverview 04:42, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Expansion Packs Features: Do We Really Need It?
I mean, of course, new expansion packs will provide completely new features. And there's no need to expect whether it's "completely new", as latest games always give more than older ones. So, do we really have to add every single new features in TS3:EPs in here? ::Yes, we need it. It's an important part of this article, thus it should stay.--The Black Scorpion 17:18, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
:::But, why? I think it's already obvious. <span style="color:#007FFF; text-shadow: #ACE5EE 0 4px 4px;">Nikel</span> <span style="color: #30D5C8 ; text-shadow: #00FFEF 0 4px 4px;"><sub>Talk</sub></span> 17:27, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
::::Because one is an extension of "completely new features" and the other is also informative. This article is called "Comparison between The Sims 2 and The Sims 3", the info you want to remove is important to this article because it list some of the big differences between the two. That's why I think it should stay.--The Black Scorpion 17:33, September 10, 2011 (UTC)

toned down
i was kinda sad they toned down certain "Suggestive" things. They removed all woohoo cinematics, toned down the booty grabbing make out sessions on beds/couches, and a few other things. Shame. 216.176.21.111 (talk) 02:18, May 31, 2013 (UTC)

Laundry
It should be noted that, while laundry was introduced in Ambitions and carried forward in the patch, the content isn't included in the base game or patch. Therefore, I removed the note because it would still be considered "EP exclusive"; compare it with diving board. The feature can still be used if somehow the laundry set is installed as a custom content, store content, or one from University Life. This is the same as all-in-one shower from Island Paradise.

One EP-specific example is the rocking chair from Supernatural. You could get rocking chairs from the Store or Aurora Skies, but if you didn't have the EP, you couldn't use the chair. This has been fixed in a recent patch so now it no longer requires Supernatural. It took a long time until EA fixed this issue.
