Dark-Blue and Blue Eyes
Personally I am at a bit of a loss as to why Sims with dark-blue eyes and Sims with blue eyes are not in seperate categories. ― <font color="maroon">C.Syde</font> (<font color="black">talk</font> &#124; <font color="black">contribs</font>) 08:35, December 20, 2013 (UTC)
:It's a little hard to tell whether Sims have dark or light blue eyes or maybe in-between. In The Sims 2, it's possible to distinguish the eye colors but only with SimPE or SimDNA cheat, because it's very hard to tell if we only compare it with our memory. However, it's impossible in The Sims 3, since "dark blue" and "light blue" are based on the editor's perception, and thus, it's a subjective measure instead of objective. "Blue eyes" covers both shades, so it prevents error, albeit less accurate. There have been too many Sims in The Sims 2 using "blue" as the eyes instead of the specific color also, so it's gonna be a big change if we have to check each Sim one-by-one from start. :::::Yeah. Personally, I like being more specific myself. It's just that it's difficult to distinguish the two eye colors, and that the number of Sims who use "blue" eye color is too many... == Broken Maxis face templates ==

It said that a fix was available for Sims with broken templates. Unless I'm very much mistaken, it means that you can make Sims use broken templates as other life stages (besides Adult) whilst being linked to the 'broken templates' and not the 2nd or 26th template.

Line 48 ⟶ 46:
::Also I think I know why my seriously modified version of the 18th face template was broken. But yes it would be a separate issue. I think it's because if you have certain expansion packs installed - (either University, Seasons, Bon Voyage or FreeTime - not sure which) - you'll be able to choose the last customized face template you made as a starting point in BodyShop (this option is only available in BodyShop if you have already cloned a Sim, selected a face template, and customized it). But for some reason if you use this as a standard, and save it, The next time you go into Create a Sim and chose that custom template, it will appear broken. If you aged that Sim to a different life stage, or the opposite gender, the template will instead resemble the 2nd face template. -- <font color="maroon">C.Syde</font> (<font color="black">talk</font> &#124; <font color="black">contribs</font>) 08:34, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

While this thread has dried up, I must point out to anyone who reads or re-reads this, that there's another version of the 25th face template that can be found in Create a Sim, for the 1st skin-tone for adult males with black hair, black glasses, sideburns, stubble, a white top, and blue shorts. This version is linked to multiple face templates for other ages. These templates notably include the 23rd face template for the face, nose, mouth (and possibly eyes), and the 15th face template for the eyebrows. I'm not sure what face the jaw is linked to, however. ― <font color="maroon">C.Syde</font> (<font color="black">talk</font> &#124; <font color="black">contribs</font>) 04:15, April 22, 2016 (UTC)

::It still needs some cleanup and additional information. I assumed that the slider with the barbells is for muscle tone, but I don't know. Also, since the demo was limited to YAs, we need info on voices and walks for other life stages. We also need to know if the subsections for clothing types vary with gender or age. == Is editing pre-mades in the Sims 3 safe? ==

Hey, I'm wondering if it is safe to edit pre-made Sims in The Sims 3. I'm not talking about changing clothes or hairstyle, I mean using the TestingCheatsEnabled cheat which I know gives you the option to re-model your Sims. Is that safe or will it glitch the game, age of the character or relationships and family trees? OoppDecks (talk) 08:58, November 21, 2014 (UTC)

:::::::Oh yeah that's right. I now remember experiencing it in my game. -- <font color="maroon">C.Syde</font> (<font color="black">talk</font> &#124; <font color="black">contribs</font>) 06:06, November 22, 2014 (UTC)

I do not think this is correct. On my Sims 1 game, there are no family relations. I made an adult male and female and a child, but the game did not recognize the two adults as a couple and they were unable to even sleep in the same bed together. I think you would have to marry them in game. Also, it would be cool if this site wrote an article about how to make custom sims 1 skins, since the CAS in the first game is not very advanced. 2601:1C2:4E01:4503:C551:A85F:9BCE:7860 (talk) 05:33, February 23, 2018 (UTC)

:Sorry, it's not clear what precisely you are referring to with your unclear section title. Are you referring to this statement in the article?

<blockquote>The Sims does not keep track of family relationships, so any adult Sims will be considered as spouses and all children as siblings.</blockquote>

:In The Sims, all adults living in the same household are in an interesting position: they all have the same surnames, they are all considered to be the parent of every child in the household, and although they can fall in love, they cannot marry. Marriage in The Sims can only occur between two opposite-sex adults living in different households, but the end result is no different from two same-sex adults living in different household asking one or the other to move in; they'll move into the actively played household, change their surname to match, and are considered to be family members in-game.

:As for two adult Sims sharing a bed, that is not determined by whether or not they are married, but rather their relationship with each other. If the two have a good relationship with each other, they'll share a bed even if they're not in love. I believe the same goes for later Sims games too. —<span style="color:#0040FF">k6ka</span> <span title="Canadian!" style="color:red">🍁</span> (<span style="color:#0080FF">Talk</span> · <span style="color:#0B4C5F">Contributions</span>) 15:52, February 23, 2018 (UTC)

CAS question
I have a question about CAS: I am wondering that can you make "oldish looking" Sims like Vladislaus Straud or youngish ones? Perhaps you can cut out the wrinkles, forehead lines and eye bags in order to create a "youngish looking" elder sim or is this option disabled on that life stage? For "oldish looking" Sims like Vlad, where do you get the elderly look features for it? I would like to know. Thanks. MSMMario25 (talk) 21:40, January 3, 2020 (UTC)
