In my game in a custom neighborhood, Marisa was employed in the Athletic career, despite her 'Chief of Staff' LTW. :It is a common misconception that townies in the Sims 2 base game have a fixed career when infact their careers are randomized at the start of the game. This also happens with their relationships with other townies and their skills are set to match their careers. In my game Marisa was employed in the Athletic career as a MVP. She was employed in the Business career as a Mailroom Technician the first time I played the Sims 2. I think one past source claimed her to be a Mayor in the Political career.
