The Sims 2 family tree for Malcolm Landgraab IV, as well as his name, shows that his branch of the family is definitely not matrilineal. As for the branch shown in TS3, Geoffrey taking Nancy's last name could be a one-off. [[User:Dharden|Dharden]] 16:55, October 23, 2009 (UTC)
:Apparently, the IP adding this family here has not played the Sims 2. However, since we are basing the events in the Sims in a chronological order, the Sims 2 (most recent) family tree is in effect. As such, remove the Landgraab family. :D - [[User:JEA13|<font color="orange">'''JEA13'''</font>]] <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User talk:JEA13|<font color="orange">iTalk</font>]]<nowiki>]</nowiki> 16:58, October 23, 2009 (UTC)
::But actually, the IP mentions that only the Sims 3 Landgraab family tree is matrilineal, so it is fine as it is now. - [[User:JEA13|<font color="orange">'''JEA13'''</font>]] <nowiki>[</nowiki>[[User talk:JEA13|<font color="orange">iTalk</font>]]<nowiki>]</nowiki> 17:01, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

Nancy appears to be the only married, pre-made female Landgraab who was definitely born into the family. Her mother and paternal grandmother appear to have married into the family, and to have taken the Landgraab name when they did.

As for the Greenman Family, would the concept even apply to a PlantSim society in which reproduction is asexual? [[User:Dharden|Dharden]] 20:36, March 2, 2010 (UTC)

Yup, she was originally a spore plantbaby, and we know spore plantbabies are all girls. So yeah, technically there cannot be patrilineal plantsim families. And yep, the landgraabs do not count as matrilineal.'' (Actually, Geoffrey is implied to be the brother of Nick Knack. Apparently, Nick and Geoffrey were poor while growing up, so they married influential ladies.)'' :Not all PlantBabies are girls. If a PlantSim is a male and spores a baby, it will also be a male. [[User:Icemandeaf|Icemandeaf]] ([[User talk:Icemandeaf|talk]]) 14:40, June 2, 2014 (UTC)
::The gender of a spawned PlantBaby is always the same as the parent? I didn't know that. ::: Yup, so all female plantsims are matrilineal, not just Rose. And all male plantsims are patrilineal. If Rose and Jason had a son together, and the son became a plantsim (or even if he did not) the Greenman would be patrilineal. And Nancy seems to be an exception to the rule. Think like how in legacy challenges the spouse has to take the founder's last name. It's the same thing for Nancy. So, i would not consider the Landgraab matrilineal. Unless they made a world that use a fully matrilineal Landgraab family, maybe with a "Malcomina Landgraab" in it. This is because the Landgraabs seem to be almost everywhere. They're propably the family that's in the most The Sims neighboorhoods. They're basically the Sims' version of the Cids from Final Fantasy! [[Special:Contributions/94.37.98.213|94.37.98.213]] ([[User talk:94.37.98.213|talk]]) 18:57, June 12, 2014 (UTC)

:::Also i realized something, if the Landgraabs can be matrilineal (i think they made Geoffrey take Nancy's last name as a parody of legacy challenges where husbands take their wife's last names a lot. In my current legacy, Geoffrey just happened to become the founder's spouse, and took a custom surname from her.) so can the Goth family, right? Or any other family? The only strictly patriarchal family is the Monty's. And for the TS3 families, you could easily play any of them as matrilineal. [[Special:Contributions/78.15.35.105|78.15.35.105]] ([[User talk:78.15.35.105|talk]]) 19:01, July 22, 2014 (UTC)
