Moving to another town?

I heard somwhere that with Late Night or some patch you can move to another town.

Even without expansions or patches, you can move to different towns.--Eduardog3000 Ed G 04:47, March 26, 2011 (UTC)
How do you move to another town?

MOVING WITHOUT PERMISSION?

Once I had a family related to people in my active household move towns without permission. I got a notification saying that they had to leave due to a new career opportunity then they disappeared from my family tree! Can anyone explain this?

Do you play with EA's story progression? If so, EA's story progression is prone to emigrating (deleting) random Sims outside your active family when the game thinks your neighborhood is getting full. I don't think it mattered whether your family knows the emigrated Sims or not. It just does it to anyone at random. Try using Twallan's story progression mod, which handles stuff like this better.
